Drive a Car Hire in Florence
A romantic, picturesque city, Florence has a seemingly endless list of things to see and do. As with most cities in the Tuscany region, there is historical architecture, and impressive collections of art around every corner. The city is a definite must for anyone touring Tuscany.
To see the city from above, and get an idea of the classical building styles and just how unmodernised it has managed to remain, visit the Campanile, which is a tower located next to the Duomo. Designed by the famous artist Giotto di Bondone, the tower stands at over 80 metres tall and offers spectacular views of the city.
Located a short distance south from here, you can also visit San Lorenzo, the oldest church in Florence. Dating back to the 4th century, the church was rebuilt almost 1000 years later into it’s current form. The interior of the church was mainly designed by Michelangelo, and the whole building is considered a historical work of art.
A short drive further south of here, right beside the picturesque Arno River, you will find one of the most famous fine art museums in the world. The Galleria Degli Uffizi is home to hundreds of world famous artworks, including many priceless paintings and sculptures from the renaissance period. The museum is highly popular, so booking is recommended to ensure you’ll get in!
