Located in the state of South Dakota, Mt Rushmore is a monument and memorial to four of the presidents who governed the United States of America during its first 150 years. Carved out of solid granite, the sculpture took a huge 14 years to complete, with the work ending in 1941. The four presidents featured are George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. Each of the faces is a massive 18m in height, and can be seen from miles away, a truly remarkable work of art.
