Within the museum you will find exhibits on the history of the area, dating back hundreds of years, and in the outdoors section you will be able to view their collection of rare desert plants, including unique cacti only found in the area.

For those travelling with children, there is one place definitely worth a visit, and that is El Paso Zoo. Located on the edge of the city centre, just a few streets from the border, the zoo is home to many rare species of animals, and has sections dedicated to the Americas, Asia and Africa.
