Driving Licence
A full valid driver’s license is required for a minimum of 1 year. An International licence is required for Australian drivers licence holders.
Age Restrictions
Generally the minimum age is 23 years, but can vary between the car hire company and location. Maximum age limits apply in some locations, a young/senior driver surcharge may apply. Please check Terms and Conditions when making an enquiry or booking.

General driving rules and regulations in India;

Speed Limits
Speed limit within towns is up to 70km/h, expressways and highways; no speed limit.
Road Signs
Road signs in India are quote similar to the signs used in United Kingdom. Signs are in their local language Hindu and some bilingual, however on some of the city roads and state highways/expressways English will also be used. Mandatory Signs are circle in shape with a red circle border that may have a cross through the middle and a symbol in the middle. Others will be in blue with a white symbol in the middle. Cautionary Signs are a triangular shape with a red border with a black symbol in the middle, warning motorists what is up ahead. Information Signs - Direction signs will have a black border with a white background. Signs with places of interest will be in purple.
Visa Information
Visa, Passport and Entry requirements for Australians visiting India;
- A visa is required by all foreigners entering India. Applications for visa's can be processed at the India Passport & Visa Services Centre.
- Passports must have at-least 6 months validity and is required to enter India.
