Driving Licence
A full valid driver’s license is required for a minimum of 1 year. An International licence is recommended for Australian drivers licence holders.
Age Restrictions
Generally the minimum age is 20 years, but can vary between the car hire company and location. Maximum age limits apply in some locations, a young/senior driver surcharge may apply. Please check Terms and Conditions when making an enquiry or booking.
Rules and Regulations
General driving rules and regulations in Singapore;

Speeds limit will vary from 40km in urban areas and from 80km on expressways.
Drink Driving
The legal Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) limit is 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood. For safety and to avoid penalties it is recommended not to drink and drive.
Tolling
Tolls in Singapore is referred to Electronic Road Pricing Scheme (ERP) which is generally used around popular roads and in the Central Business District to moderate traffic flow. Vehicles are fitted with a In-Vehicle Unit (IU) that holds a stored-valued CashCard which is deducted of the fee when passing into the tolling zone or CBD. ERP CashCards are available at all Singapore banks, post offices and petrol stations.
Road Signs
Road signs in Singapore adapt the United Kingdom traffic sign regulations. Warning Signs (eg, Roundabout Ahead), Prohibitory Signs (eg, No left turn) and Restrictive Signs (Speed limits)are typically have a red circle border and white background with a symbol in the middle. Mandatory signs are in blue which tell motorists to follow/comply. Constuctions signs are in orange. Directional signs have a green background with pointers indicating what direction; destinations such as airports will have white lettering on a blue background; streets and roads will have just a white text and landmarks will have white text with a brown background.
Zebra crossing also known as pedestrian crossings are also used in Singapore. Vehicles must giveway to pedestrians entering the crossing.
Visa Information
Visa, Passport and Entry requirements for Australians visiting Singapore;
- Australian passport holders do not require a visa for stays up to 30 days, provided they meet the following requirements;
- Hold a valid return/onward travel ticket and travel documents.
- They have enough funds for their stay in Singapore.
- A passport is required to enter Singapore and must have at-least 6 months validity.
