Administration Fees/Taxes: This 3% inclusion is levied to cover state government taxes, vehicle registration recovery, duties and administration costs.
Linen and Bedding (summary of): Includes pillow, pillowcase, sleeping bag, sheet and towel per person.
Kitchen Equipment (summary of): Includes plates, bowls, cups, glasses, knives, forks, spoons, bottle, bottle opener, mixing bowls, colander, saucepans, frying pans, cooking utensils, chopping board, kettle, teapot, toaster, and tea towel.
General Equipment (summary of): Includes pegs and clothesline, dustpan/brush, fire extinguisher, bucket, Hose, broom, matches, ice cube tray, coat hangers, toilet chemicals and floor safes in 4, 5 and 6 Berths.
4WD Outback Safety Kit: 4WD vehicles only. This kit includes an Emergency Position Indication Radio Beacon (EPIRB), snatch strap with D shackles and a folding spade. An EPIRB when activated transmits an emergency distress signal which can be detected by Australian rescue authorities. A snatch strap is used to pull a vehicle from a bogged position with the aid of another vehicle. The D shackles secure the snatch strap to a rigid anchor point.
Exclusions:
Airport Concession Fee: AUD16 + Tax /rental. An Airport concession fee may be charged for hires with pick up and drop off from airport locations. An airport pick up fee will apply for hires with pick up at Hobart Airport. This fee is subject to change and new airport charges may arise.
Broome Fee: AUD650 + Tax /rental. An additional remote location fee applies to all rentals picking up or dropping off in Broome. Only one remote location fee is charged per vehicle. This is in addition to the one way fee if applicable.
Pre Purchase Gas (PGO): Standard rates - Mandatory charge, paid at time of collection. HiTop, Voyager, Bushcamper 4WD, Safari 4WD, Challenger 4WD: AUD17 + Tax /rental. Elite, Explorer, Maverick, Escape, Renegade, Frontier: AUD37 + Tax /rental. Included in Inclusive rates. The gas bottle is supplied full and can be returned empty once the hire is complete. The gas bottle is used to operate the gas stove and to heat the hot water in vehicles with a hot water facility.
One Way Fees: Minimum rental period is 7 days or greater, depending on the pick up and drop off combination. Standard rates - AUD260 + Tax /rental for collections from Cairns, Brisbane, Byron/Ballina Airport, Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart or Adelaide, and returns to these locations. Should the hire originate or return to or from Darwin, Broome, Alice Springs or Perth, the one way fee is AUD360 + Tax /rental. No one way fee is charged if the collection is Brisbane and the return is Sydney. Included in Inclusive rates.
Conditions:
Calculation of Rates: Rates are based on seasonal calendar days.
Minimum Age: 21 years. No Young Drivers Surcharge is payable.
Maximum Age: No limit. For drivers 75 years and over, a medical certificate stating that the customer is fit to drive for the duration of the hire is required upon vehicle collection.
Licence Requirement: All drivers must have held a full, valid Australian or New Zealand licence for a minimum of 2years. The drivers licence must be current and be valid for the whole duration of the rental. Should a foreign licence be in a language other than English, it must be accompanied by a current international driving permit issued in the same country as the drivers licence was issued. An accredited English translation will be accepted in lieu of an international driving permit.
Minimum Rental: 5 days with the exception of one way hires. One Way Hires - Refer to the one way fee clause. Subject to change in peak periods i.e. Christmas. Between 15 Dec-05 Jan, minimum rental period is 10 days for 4, 5 and 6 Berths. 7 day minimum hire is required for all other motorhomes during this period. During the Bathurst and Philip Island Races, a 7 day minimum rental period applies from East Coast Branch locations.
Collection Time: Pick up time is anytime during office hours.
Return Time: Return time is no later than 3.30pm.
Branch Hours: Open 7 days a week. Brisbane, Byron/Ballina, Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Adelaide and Perth: 01 September-30 April 7.30am-4pm. 01 May-31 August 10am-4pm. Alice Springs, Darwin, Broome and Cairns: 01 May-31 October 7.30am-4pm. 01 November-30 April 10am- 4pm.
After Hours: Available on request for an additional charge.

Booster Seat (4-7 years): Standard rates - AUD35 + Tax /rental. Must be prebooked. Included in Inclusive rates if required & prebooked. Booster seats for the HiTop & Bushcamper 4WD vehicles can only be positioned on the front passenger seat.
Tent (4 Person): AUD65 + Tax /rental.
Satellite Phone: AUD18 + Tax /day + call charges.
Awnings (if not already affixed): AUD5 + Tax /day, max AUD80 + Tax /rental.
First Aid Kit: A First Aid kit is supplied in every vehicle. If the seal is broken or the kit is not returned the kit becomes the property of the renter and an AUD30 + Tax fee is charged when the vehicle is returned.
Souvenir Road Atlas: AUD20 + Tax for purchase.
Heater/Fan: AUD15 + Tax /rental.
High Chair: AUD22 + Tax /rental.

Transfers: Britz clients need to make their own way to and from the Britz Branch at their own expense.
Vehicle Age: Approx. 0-3 years. Vehicles cannot be requested by model, mileage or age, only by vehicle category.
Security Deposit: Cash - Not available. Credit Card - Required. Standard Rates - deposit debited AUD7,500, AUD2,500 (2WD)/AUD3,500 (4WD) or AUD220 (2WD)/AUD550 (4WD), depending on the insurance cover the client has. Inclusive Rates - deposit debited AUD500-220, depending on the vehicle type (2WD or 4WD). Britz accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Visa and MasterCard will incur an additional 2% surcharge on any transaction. American Express will incur an additional 4.5% surcharge on any transaction.
Animals in Vehicle: No animals are permitted in our vehicles, excluding guide dogs.
Smoking in Vehicles: Smoking is not permitted in any of the vehicles.
Fuel: Client is advised to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel, the same as collection.
Storage: Not available at the Britz depots.
Cleaning Fee: Indoor cleaning charges will apply if the vehicle is not returned clean.
GST: GST is applied to those items paid at time of collection.

Travel Restrictions:
- 2WD vehicles: Can only be driven on sealed/bitumen roads or well maintained access roads less than 12 kilometres to recognised campgrounds, and recognised roads on Kangaroo Island. Should a customer wish to travel on an unsealed that is greater than 12 kilometres in length to access a campground, special permission can be arranged pending road conditions, weather and distance.
- 4WD vehicles: Can only be driven on sealed /bitumen roads and recognised unsealed roads. 4WD vehicles may only travel to the following areas with the written permission of Britz (please contact the local branch for further information): Simpson Desert, Strzelecki Track, Gunbarrel Highway, Cape York, the Bungle Bungles, Oodnadatta Track, Birdsville Track, Tanami Track, the Plenty Highway, Gibb River Road, Burke Development Road from Chillagoe to Normanton and Savannah Way from Normanton to Borroloola, Fraser Island*, Finke Road (between Alice Springs and Oodnadatta), Central Arnhem Road and Arnhem Land in general.
- Vehicles are not permitted to travel on the Canning Stock Route, the Lost City in Litchfield Park, the Old Gunbarrel Hwy, the Telegraph section of the road to Cape York, Boggy Hole (Finke Gorge National Park) and the Old South Road from Maryvale to Finke, at any time.
- Vehicles are not permitted to travel to Cape York between the months of December to May. At all other times permission is required.
- The Britz Safari 4WD is not permitted to travel to Fraser Island where any objects are being stored on the roof of the vehicle. This requirement is legislated and fines, enforced by local authorities are applicable.
- Britz reserves the right at its sole discretion to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions, and the distance to nominated destinations in relation to the length of the hire period.
