Travelling in France with a Motorhome

There are countless camping grounds and caravan parks located throughout France which makes your explorations easy. Wake up in Aix en Provence one day, and Avignon the next. Surrounded by Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Spain, France is a great location to start your adventures of Europe.

Paris is the capital city of France and is considered to be the city of love. Park your motorhome and take on the busy city of Paris by train and foot. Paris is a beautiful city to walk through, as you pass the exquisite designer shops and of course the architecture is amazing. The landmarks are a must, check out the Arc de Triumph, The Notre Dame Cathedral and of course the world famous Eiffel Tower which is best seen at sunset.

Paris is always the popular choice when visiting France, but there’s so much more to see! Drive your motorhome west to the charming city of Bordeaux. Bordeaux has a cosmopolitan feel but still preserves its architecture and historical monuments, making it a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must see. Just about 2 hours drive south from Bordeaux is Toulouse. Toulouse has a Mediterranean ambience and many attractions such as the World Heritage Site, the Canal du Midi, and the River Garonne.

Marseille is located east of Toulouse approx 4 hours drive away. Marseille is one of the oldest cities in France after Paris. It is a sophisticated city filled with luxurious charm and vibrant colours which bounce off the terracotta roofs. Marseille has a beautiful old harbour called the le Vieux Port which is great for a stroll on a summers evening. The Notre Dame de la Garde is a beautiful church with magnificent views of the city.

Just 30 minutes away from Marseille is the charming city of Aix en Provence. Aix en Provence is filled with a rich history and culture and has the comfort of a laid back city. Aix en Provence has amazing fountains, the largest and most famous being the Cours Mirabeau. North end of the city you will find the St Sauveur cathedral filled with the city’s rich religious heritage.
