Transfers: The customer’s taxi fare from the closest airport to the Maui branch (for pick up only) is refunded upon vehicle collection only when the booked package is the Maui Premium Package. Receipt must be presented for re-imbursement. All other transfers are at the customers own expense.
Administration Fees/Taxes: This 3% inclusion is levied to cover state government taxes, vehicle registration recovery, duties and administration costs.
Linen and Bedding (summary of): Includes pillow, pillowcase, sheet and towel per person plus one doona (duvet) per bed.
Kitchen Equipment (summary of): Includes plates, bowls, cups, glasses, knives, forks, spoons, bottle/can opener, mixing bowls, colander, saucepans, frying pans, cooking utensils, chopping board, kettle, teapot, coffee plunger, toaster and tea towel.
Living/General Equipment (summary of): Includes pegs, dustpan/brush, fire extinguisher, bucket/hose, broom, matches, ice cube tray, coat hangers, toilet chemicals and floor safe in all vehicles. General equipment also includes starter items that are designed to provide the customer with some basic requirements as might be needed at the beginning of a hire, before the customer has had an opportunity to visit a supermarket and includes dishwashing detergent, disposable gloves, mosquito coils, bin liner, toilet roll, sponge, scourer, soap, tissues and shampoo and conditioner sachets.
Exclusions:
Airport Concession Fee: AUD16 + Tax /rental. An Airport concession fee may be charged for hires with pick up and drop off from airport locations. An airport pick up fee will apply for hires with pick up at Hobart Airport. This fee is subject to change and new airport charges may arise.
Broome Fee: AUD650 + Tax /rental. An additional remote location fee applies to all rentals picking up or dropping off in Broome. Only one remote location fee is charged per vehicle. This is in addition to the one way fee if applicable.
Pre Purchase Gas (PGO): Standard rates - Mandatory charge, paid at time of collection. AUD37 + Tax /rental. Included in Inclusive rates. The gas bottle is supplied full and can be returned empty once the hire is complete. The gas bottle is used to operate the gas stove and to heat the hot water in vehicles with a hot water facility.
One Way Fees: Minimum rental period is 7 days or greater, depending on the pick up and drop off combination. Standard rates - AUD260 + Tax /rental for collections from Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart or Adelaide, and returns to these locations. Should the hire originate or return to or from Darwin, Broome, Alice Springs or Perth, the one way fee is AUD360 + Tax /rental. Included in Inclusive rates. The Platinum Forest is available between Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Cairns only.
Conditions:
Calculation of Rates: Rates are based on seasonal calendar days.
Minimum Age: 21 years. No Young Drivers Surcharge is payable.
Maximum Age: No limit. For Drivers over 75, a medical certificate is required stating that the customer is fit to drive for the duration of the hire is required upon vehicle collection.
Licence Requirement: All drivers must have held a full, valid licence. The drivers licence must be current and be valid for the whole duration of the rental. Should a foreign licence be in a language other than English it must be accompanied by a current international driving permit issued in the same country as the driver’s licence was issued. An accredited English translation will be accepted in lieu of an international driving permit.
Minimum Rental: 7 days, with the exception of Spirit 2 T/S Ultima where the minimum is 5 days. One Way Hires - Refer to the one way fee clause. Subject to change in peak periods i.e. Christmas. All rentals collecting between the 15 December and 5 January will have a minimum hire requirement of 10 days with the exception of the Spirit 2T/S Ultima where the minimum hire requirement is 7 days.
Collection Time: Pick up time is anytime during office hours.
Return Time: Return time is anytime during office hours.
Branch Hours: Open 7 days a week. Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Adelaide and Perth: 01 September-30 April 7.30am-4pm. 01 May-31 August 10am-4pm. Alice Springs, Darwin, Broome and Cairns: 01 May-31 October 7.30am-4pm. 01 November-30 April 10am- 4pm.
After Hours: Available on request for an additional charge.

First Aid Kit: A First Aid kit is supplied in every vehicle. If the seal is broken or the kit is not returned the kit becomes the property of the renter and an AUD30 + Tax fee is charged when the vehicle is returned.

Heater/Fan: AUD15 + Tax /rental.
High Chair: AUD22 + Tax /rental.
GPS: Standard rates - AUD10 + Tax /day, max AUD100 + Tax /rental. Included in Inclusive rates.

Portable Hand Held Shower: AUD15 + Tax /rental.

Insurance/Excess Reduction:
Insurance Excess: Standard rates - AUD7,500 + Tax. Insurance Rates - Nil.
Excess/Liability Reduction Option 1: Standard rates - AUD29 + Tax /day, max AUD1,450 + Tax /rental, reduces the the Insurance Excess to AUD2,500 + Tax. Insurance Rates - N/A.
Excess/Liability Reduction Option 2: Standard rates - AUD45 + Tax /day, max AUD2,500 + Tax /rental, reduces the the Insurance Excess to Nil. Included in Inclusive rates.

Platinum Forest Note: This vehicle is only available to/from Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Cairns.
Vehicle Age: Approx. 0-3 years. Vehicles cannot be requested by model, mileage or age, only by vehicle category.
Security Deposit: Cash - Not available. Credit Card - Required. Standard Rates - deposit debited AUD7,500, AUD2,500 or AUD220, depending on the insurance cover the client has. Inclusive Rates - deposit debited AUD220. Maui accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Visa and MasterCard will incur an additional 2% surcharge on any transaction. American Express will incur an additional 4.5% surcharge on any transaction.
Animals in Vehicle: No animals are permitted inside the motorhomes, except guide dogs.
Smoking in Vehicles: Smoking is not permitted in any of the vehicles.
Fuel: Client is advised to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel, the same as collection.
Storage: Not available at the Maui depots.
Cleaning Fee: Indoor cleaning charges will apply if the vehicle is not returned clean.
GST: GST is applied to those items paid at time of collection.

Travel Restrictions:
- Campervans can only be driven on sealed/bitumen roads. The only exceptions to this are well-maintained access roads of less than twelve kilometres to recognised campgrounds and well-maintained, recognised roads on Kangaroo Island (South Australia). Should a customer wish to travel on an unsealed road that is greater than twelve kilometres in length to access a recognised campground special permission can be arranged pending road condition, weather and distance. Please contact your local representative to discuss.
- Maui reserves the right at its sole discretion to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions, and the distance to nominated destinations in relation to the length of the hire period
