Linen and Bedding (summary of): Includes pillow, pillowcase, sheet and towel per person plus one duvet (doona) per bed. Maui customers may also exchange their linen and bedding during their rental at any Maui branch if they have purchased.

Kitchen Equipment (summary of): Includes quality plates, bowls and cups. Wine and drinking glasses. Superior cutlery and cooking utensils. Bottle/can opener, mixing bowls, colander, saucepans, frying pans, chopping board, gas kettle, electric jug, coffee plunger, toaster and tea towel.

General Equipment (summary of): Includes pegs, dustpan/brush, fire extinguisher, bucket/hose, broom, matches, ice cube tray, clothes hangers and a floor safe. General equipment also includes starter items that are designed to provide the customer with some basic requirements as might be needed at the beginning of a hire, before the customer has had an opportunity to visit a supermarket and includes dishwashing detergent, disposable gloves, biodegradable bin liner, toilet roll and biodegradable toilet chemicals.

Valet Service: Customers on hires of 21 days or more in length (does not include multiple hires) may visit any Maui location while on hire to have their vehicle detailed and oil and water checked. Please call ahead by a minimum of 48 hours for this service. Where available a car will be supplied to the customer for use while the motorhome is being detailed.

Express Key Return: Maui customers with the Maui Premium Package may simply return their keys to the counter when returning a vehicle without any need to do vehicle checks. This service only applies where no vehicle damage has occurred whilst on hire.

Transfers: Maui provides free airport to branch and branch to airport transfer on day of arrival and departure for their Auckland and Christchurch Branches. Queenstown branch is located 500 metres from the airport; a shuttle bus is provided.

Exclusions:

Road User Charge Recovery Fee (RUCRF): Standard rates - Mandatory charge; Ultima: NZD4.96 + Tax /100km. Platinum Beach: NZD4.84 + Tax /100km. Platinum River: NZD5.13 + Tax /100km. RUCRF will be calculated and collected on return of the vehicle based on the kilometres travelled during the hire. Included in Inclusive rates.

Queenstown Fee: NZD210 + Tax /rental. Vehicle collections and returns in Queenstown incur a location fee (same city collection and return, one fee applies). This is in addition to the one way fee, if applicable.

One Way Fees: Minimum 10 days. Standard rates - NZD300 + Tax /rental for rentals between the North and South Islands and vice versa, where pick-up is between 01 October and 31 March. Included in Inclusive rates.

Conditions:

Calculation of Rates: Rates are based on seasonal calendar days.

Minimum Age: 21 years. No Young Drivers Surcharge is payable.

Maximum Age: No limit.

Licence Requirement: All drivers must have held a full, valid licence. The drivers licence must be current and be valid for the whole duration of the rental. Should a foreign licence be in a language other than English it must be accompanied by a current international driving permit issued in the same country as the driver’s licence was issued. An accredited English translation will be accepted in lieu of an international driving permit.

Minimum Rental: 5 days with the exception of one way hires. One Way Hires - Refer to the one way fee clause. Subject to change in peak periods i.e. Christmas. Between 23 Dec-10 Jan, the minimum rental period is 10 days.

Collection Time: Pick up time is anytime during office hours.

Return Time: Return time is anytime during office hours.

Branch Hours: 7 days a week 8am-4.30pm. All depots are closed Christmas Day.

After Hours: Available on request for an additional charge.

Picnic Table: Standard rates - NZD25 + Tax /rental. Included in Inclusive rates if required & prebooked.

Picnic Chair: Standard rates - NZD18 + Tax per chair /rental. Included (per person travelling) in Inclusive rates if required & prebooked.

Baby Seat (up to 4 years): Standard rates - NZD36 + Tax /rental. Must be prebooked. Included in Inclusive rates if required & prebooked. Baby seats may not be able to fit in all vehicles.

Booster Seat (4-7 years): Standard rates - NZD36 + Tax /rental. Must be prebooked. Included in Inclusive rates if required & prebooked. Booster seats may not be able to fit in all vehicles.

Portable Heater: NZD16 + Tax /rental. Included in Inclusive rates if required & prebooked.

Snow Chains: Standard - NZD36 + Tax /rental. Included in Inclusive rates if required & prebooked.

Tent (4 Person): NZD65 + Tax /rental.

Camping Pack: For 2 people. NZD20 + Tax /day, max NZD200 + Tax /rental.

Awnings (if not already affixed): NZD5 + Tax /day, max NZD80 + Tax /rental.

First Aid Kit: A First Aid kit is supplied in every vehicle. If the seal is broken or the kit is not returned the kit becomes the property of the renter and an NZD31 + Tax fee is charged when the vehicle is returned.

Souvenir Road Atlas: NZD25 + Tax for purchase.

GPS: Standard rates - NZD10 + Tax /day, max NZD100 + Tax /rental. Included in Inclusive rates.

Portable Hand Held Shower: NZD16 + Tax /rental.

Extra Doona Hire: NZD16 + Tax /rental.

Electrical Adaptor: NZD14 + Tax for purchase.

Pre Purchase Gas (PGO): Standard rates - NZD38 + Tax /rental. Included in Inclusive rates. The gas bottle is supplied full and can be returned empty once the hire is complete. The gas bottle is used to operate the gas stove and to heat the hot water in vehicles with a hot water facility.

Insurance/Excess Reduction:

Insurance Excess: Standard rates - NZD7,500 + Tax. Inclusive rates - Nil.

Excess/Liability Reduction Option 1: Standard rates - NZD29 + Tax /day, max NZD1,450 + Tax /rental, reduces the the Insurance Excess to NZD2,500 + Tax. Inclusive rates - N/A.

Excess/Liability Reduction Option 2 (VIP Cover): Standard rates - NZD45 + Tax /day, max NZD2,250 + Tax /rental, reduces the the Insurance Excess to Nil. Included in Inclusive rates.

Additional Protection Coverage: NZD89 + Tax /rental. Covers the cost of damage resulting from a single vehicle roll over. This cover can only be purchased in-conjunction with Liability Reduction Option 2 or the Inclusive (Maui Premium Package) rates.

Additional Information:

Vehicle Age: Approx. 1 month-18 months. Vehicles cannot be requested by make or model, only by vehicle category.

Security Deposit: Cash - Not available. Credit Card - Required. Standard Rates - deposit debited NZD7,500, NZD2,500 or NZD220, depending on the insurance cover the client has. Inclusive rates - deposit imprinted NZD220. Maui accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Visa and MasterCard will incur an additional 2% surcharge on any transaction. American Express will incur an additional 4.5% surcharge on any transaction.

Animals in Vehicle: No animals are permitted inside the motorhomes, except guide dogs.

Smoking in Vehicles: Smoking is not permitted in any of the vehicles.

Fuel: Client is advised to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel, the same as collection.

Storage: Not available at the Maui depots.

Cleaning Fee: Indoor cleaning charges will apply if the vehicle is not returned clean.

GST: GST is applied to those items paid at time of collection.

Travel Restrictions:

• Motorhomes can only be driven on sealed/bitumen or well-maintained roads.
• No vehicle shall be driven on Skippers Road (Queenstown), Ninety Mile Beach (Northland), Ball Hut Road (Mt. Cook), Bluff Road that runs between Kuaotunu and Matarangi and North of Colville Township (Coromandel Peninsula).
• Maui reserves the right at its sole discretion to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions.
