Recently returning from a driving holiday in the south of France, I had the luxury of picking up a car rented through Driveaway Holidays with prearranged Sat Nav (officially known as Seymor GPS Travel Assistant ). This is ordered prior to your departure from Australia, comes in a convenient carry case all at the inclusive price of $9.90 per day. 'Seymor' guided us accurately, every time from our base in Montpellier to scenic sights and town centres of Aix en Provence, Nimes, Arles and Avignon. Not once did Seymor let us down, whether it be using scenic back roads or fast paced autobahns. I would suggest anyone planning an international driving holiday not to leave home without the the company of 'Seymor'. Peter.

Our arrival into Cardiff Airport required us to collect our Driveaway rental car from the airport depot and this was handled with ease. The plan was for our small group to report to our hotel and then proceed back to the airport to collect our friend, who was arriving on a later flight. Prior to leaving Australia I had downloaded trip advice from the Viamichelin.com site to give us directions to our out of town hotel, however this information seemed to be directing us to a small village in the Welsh mountains rather than a suburban location. After driving around for about an hour we decided to return to the airport to collect our friend and more importantly the Driveaway GPS system he was carrying. What a bonus... It is a great system and provided the user has some reasonable knowledge of where they want to go, it gives clear, easy to follow advice. We named our GPS - "Joan" and at one stage one of our group threatened to slap "Joan" about a bit for giving us wrong directions, however we later realised we had input incorrect information. I have since been back to the UK & France and would not have managed without a GPS unit. John.

I would like to let you know about how our trip to Lyon and southern France was made so enjoyable and stress free because we pre rented a GPS. We had the GPS delivered to us prior to our departure which allowed me to read through the manual which was easy to understand. We collected the car on arrival in Lyon airport and the first thing we did was turn on the GPS and input the address to the hotel and set off. It was fantastic 30 minutes later we were there no wrong turns no arguments. This gave us the confidence to drive to more places making our journey even more memorable and in each place we went too we took the GPS out of the car and with us in pedestrian mode and were able to walk directed to the places of interest of the cities and towns we visited. It even has a feature that finds the closest petrol station to where you are, this came in very handy on a number of occasions. We will never travel with out one again. Gill.

The GPS unit was a life saver and found the pedestrian mode the best for when he and his wife were sick of driving and wanted to explore towns on foot. Loved the compact size as well. All round made the trip more enjoyable. Peter Day.

What a life saver and marriage saver too. It was so easy to use and cleaver features that we kept discovering by playing more. Loved how we could use it on the plane and was a life saver when we were in Germany as both us wanted to see so many things around the Munich region where my relatives grew up but did not know where to begin. Loved the instruction book as it just puts it in plain English. It was so worth the money and now we want one for home as we feel a bit lost now when driving. Elaine Bragg.

Loved the find home button. Every day when we went out exploring we loved how we could just hit that button and it took us home. It was particularly good on the main roads around Paris as they can get confusing and it was very stressful. Would not have been able to navigate with a map as some of the overpasses and underpasses on the maps were confusing and we would give up. Mrs Gray.

All I wanted to do was shop and it took me there every time. Walmarts were not always easy to find in America as some are off main roads a bit and I would not have been able to get as much in my holiday as expected. We would plan itinery each night and then the next day just followed where we had planned into the Seymor GPS and we got heaps more done and saw heaps more to. Also a marriage saver. Hello Seymor. Just wanted to send a quick sms to let you know how grateful we are that we are using you. Thank god for the Seymor – we would not be here without it, as we would be still trying to get out of Paris. We drove through the Medoc region of Bordeaux yesterday and didn’t realise that you have to make an appointment to see the Chateaus. We were so thankful that Seymor GPS was able to show us what else was available in the area to do. Otherwise it would have been a wasted day. Previous holidays have been a navigational nightmare, as I get carsick and have trouble reading the maps. This holiday was the best and we believe it is because of Seymor. I just wanted to send a quick thankyou to all of you at Seymor. What a fantastic product you offer. I think we used just about every feature on that marvellous little machine of yours. Along with all the usual GPS features we also used the currency converter, the distance calculator, the MP3, the Photo viewer, and the world clock. It actually saved us once, when the hotel we booked in Big Sur USA was not very inviting, Seymor GPS showed us the way to the next closest hotel.
