When you collect your hire car in one location and return to a different location this is called a one way rental. It also includes collecting and returning at different locations in the same city, the same country and even between countries. A one way rental is a great alternative to flying or taking the train - however fees and restrictions can apply. This is because the car has to be returned to the location you collected it from.
When you rent a car, all our rates include basic insurance - Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Third Party Liability and Theft Protection (TP). In the event the rental vehicle is stolen or accidentally damaged an excess will apply. An excess is the maximum amount that the renter is liable for in an accident. Some suppliers offer reduced excess rates, zero excess rates or options to reduce the excess locally.
To rent and collect your rental car you will need to present a credit card and full valid driver’s license in the name of the main driver. When travelling to a foreign country, you may require more than your regular Australian driving license. A International Driving Permit is proof that you hold a valid driver’s license in your home country, at the date of issue. It’s required in over 50 countries around the world, in addition to your home license and is easily obtained through the local motoring club in your state.
