The bustling capital city of Japan, Tokyo, is a favoured destination when travelling through Asia. Home to museums, temples, gardens, monuments, traditional history and entertainment, you will never be short of things to see and experience in this astounding city. Japan’s four distinct seasons mean you can travel to Tokyo four times in a year and experience something new each time! Spring is the most popular season thanks to the popular cherry blossom. In Tokyo view these cherry blossoms in Chidorigafuchi or along the Sumida River.
Autumn means beautiful red leaves fall from the trees, a perfect option for hiking in Okutama and taking a stroll through the Kiyosumi Gardens. Summer is the festival season with fireworks lighting up the night time sky and the streets come to life with parades and festivals. Winter is a chilly time, where the streets are decorated with Christmas decorations and lights and the hot springs of Onsen are a perfect way to warm up.
Car rental companies will require a security deposit ‘held’ against your credit card. The credit card must be in the name of the renter shown on our booking and must have sufficient funds to cover the required deposit / excess. Usually CASH and DEBIT CARDS (including Travelex Cards) are not accepted and may result in refusal by the supplier to release the vehicle.
Deposit amounts vary and will generally equate to the value of the Excess liability. This may affect the credit available to you on your credit card for several days after the vehicle is returned. In some instances the bond can be paid in cash (check with DriveAway as this will need to be confirmed in advance).
Please contact the car rental company for a quote on the cost of the additional rental days. Be sure to ask for the total cost inclusive if insurance and taxes and make a note of the person who has advised the information.
In some instances the rental company will suggest you contact your Travel Agent or DriveAway to arrange for a new voucher to cover the extra days. Payment should then be made to DriveAway and a new voucher is issued and faxed overseas to cover the extension or new rental.
