On the way, you’ll be able to explore the Great American Outdoors, stunning State Parks and new activities like tobogganing and kayaking.

A short trip from NYC brings you to the Saratoga Region. Visit historic homes, battlefields, and museums; enjoy eclectic galleries, unique shops, top-rated restaurants, and lodging.
Travelers seek out Saratoga for the world class thoroughbred racing, renowned arts and culture offerings, and a multitude of wellness activities – recharging after a busy time in the city before you hit the road is ideal. Visitors can grab a car here – much quieter than NYC and explore the “Great Outdoors”.
Just a half hour’s drive north from Saratoga Springs you will discover The Lake George Area, home to the “Queen of American Lakes,” 50km long, Lake George. Positioned at the gateway to the Adirondacks, the area is a collaboration of vibrant city streets, quaint villages, rolling mountains and sparkling lakes, ponds, rivers and streams surrounded by deep forests. Base yourself here for a few days to enjoy outdoor adventure, natural scenic beauty.
Head to High Peaks Cyclery, an extensively equipped outdoors outfitter with every type of gear rental you can imagine. Guided treks are available to get you out into the spectacular nature of the Adirondacks. You only need to bring your sense of adventure. If you still have it in you for the second day spend it with the Adirondac Rafting Company (no “k” in the name) for an awesome whitewater rafting trip. All gear is provided and no experience is necessary – there’s no excuse to miss this adventure of a lifetime.
After visiting Lake George and its surrounding area, head into the centre of the Adirondack Park and visit The Wild Center in Tupper Lake on your way to Lake Placid, the site of two Winter Olympics. The beautiful Adirondacks is one of the largest protected areas in the continental U.S. Pass hundreds of lakes, thousands of miles of rivers and streams, and beautiful mountains.
The areas is renowned for its great food, Olympic history, and luxurious spas making it possible to have a thrilling outdoor adventure and pamper yourself, all in the same day. Base yourself in Lake Placid for excellent boutique shopping and dining.
Head further North to the #adkcoast stretching across the western shores of Lake Champlain bordered by New York’s Adirondack Mountains and the Green Mountains of Vermont. The area is home to the Grand Canyon of the Adirondacks – Ausable Chasm, one for the bucket list, visitors can raft or tube in the chasm for the ultimate outdoor adventure.
